Molecular and Genetic Characterization of Colicinogenic Escherichia coli Strains Active against Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli O157:H7

چکیده

The objective of this work was to molecularly and genotypically characterize test the inhibitory activity six colicinogenic Escherichia coli strains (ColEc) their partially purified colicins against STEC O157:H7 isolated from clinical human cases. Inhibition tests demonstrated these O157:H7. By PCR it possible detect Ia, E7, B microcins M, H47, C7, J25. genome sequencing two selected ColEc strains, identify additional such as E1 Ib. No genes coding for stx1 stx2 were detected after analyzing sequence. used an indicator showed that are potent growth inhibitors E. O157:H7, being a potential alternative reduce presence pathogens public health relevance.
